Miss Popular

You trackin' with me?  Yes daddy I am.  Avery is focusing more and more each day.  With the exception of a couple delays here or there she can look directly at you and acknowledge your existence.  This is a wonderful and fulfilling thing! And as those facial muscles begin to tone up her expressions will include smiles,  laughs, and grins!  Here we are on our second Saturday morning date.  It was similar to last week.  More pooing, peeing, burping but this time she was awake.
Today, Avery had an arrival shower.  I've never heard of one of these but it was an excuse for people to get together and see our sweet girl.  Some 50-60 people showed up to catch up, eat, and meet little Aves.

Our lovely cooks and hostesses.  Rachelle, Teresa, Viv, and Kathy.  Thank you ladies!

The proud momma with her great aunts and two grandmas.
Lots of hand sanitizer!
As always at an Unruh event...plenty of great good!

Isaac was our official parking attendant.

Avery will rival the cuteness of these girls.  Love these three!

What a blessing!  Thanks to all who continue to pray for us.  And thanks for the gifts as well!

Kevin and Linda brought home some tasty cakes from Pure Bliss in Bellingham.  Yum!

After the party some of us headed to the beach...
Leila doing what she's told: Digging for oysters.

I wasn't going to let the girls leave without holding a starfish.  Leila and I traveled the lengths of the beach to bring one to them.

I bit of a goofy picture.  This is a panoramic taken from our cousin Aaron's phone.  It will put into perspective how many people (some not shown) attended Avery's arrival shower.

There you have it.  We are looking forward to the arrival of my family next month.  I can't wait for them to see and hold our little June bug!

Everything Avery!

She's smiling folks.  Whether she means to or not, she is smiling!  Here are a couple of the many smiles of Avery.
"Full diaper" smile.
Not sure if this is "Give me boob!" or "Gonna sneeze" smile.
"Thanks for caring Mommy" smile.
Her one week old photos.  It only took her two days to get back to birth weight and weighed in today at 7.5 lbs.

"You are silly Mommy!" smile.

Days 4, 5, & 6.

I appreciate this pace of life.  Saturday morning consisted of Avery laying on my chest.  It was our first daddy/daughter date.  While Katie caught up on much needed sleep, my sweet girl enjoyed a good poo, pee, and burp up all while on my chest.  And she slept through the whole date.  I loved every minute of it and it will be a memory I can share with her.

Aunt Teresa and Avery in a staring contest.
Yesterday Avery had her first visitor.  And he was younger than her!  Welcome Riley.
Riley belongs to one of Kate's friends.  He was induced two weeks early because he was already 8+ lbs.
Avery wondering who's in her personal space.

My skinny high jumper meets a full-back.
My sister Emily wanted feet pictures.  Here you go.
