Walks have been a part of the morning routine. There are trails with neat trees, marshes, different wildlife or of course the ocean.
The road ends one mile north of our beach house. The beach becomes the road and obviously requires four wheel drive.
Pelicans are everywhere. There are plenty of sand crabs that find the curious tourists annoying and the occasional dolphin that makes an appearance just for our experience.
We've had thunderstorms every night. By the time we leave I will have experienced more thunderstorms this week than I have in the past 8 years.
My Aunt Annie is a gifted painter. She is perfectly content with her watercolors and the scenery. I even gave watercolor painting a shot.
Kate and I enjoyed an afternoon trip to Jockey's Ridge State Park. It is home to the East coasts largest sand dunes.
That's me at the top of the hill ready to run down.
Tomorrow we head to Cape Hatteras and the Wright Brother's National Monument.
