thankful for great food, family, celebrations, and memories

Scott and I left the beautiful 80 degree weather on Wednesday and flew up to the chilly Northwest -- to Blaine, Wa. We spent the following 3 days with family and friends. The pictures begin at the bottom with Thanksgiving... and end with the celebration of my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary.

There were so many more pics to put up.... but this will have to do for now

The kids jumped in to get the candy....sorry, no sugar free stuff in there Grandpa

"watch out, she's got a bat!" Notice how both Scott and Grandpa and cowering in fear of Kathy's mad pinata-hitting skills

The grande finale: a one of a kind John Deer Tractor Pinata, complete with Len and Kathy faces

A skit we performed telling the story of how Leonard and Kathy first met (some resemblance to "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show) -- Benny the "sound effects" guy, Rebecca on the piano, Joel played "Garrison Keillor", Scott and I were Len and Kathy, and Tim and Michelle were their friends Eldred and Kay.

Definitely the cool table

Grandma and Grandpa enjoying the company of Tim, Michelle, and relatives down from Canada

Life on the farm (yes, those are M&M's--in a chicken feeder of some sort)

Where it all began....

pictures of family, friends, and travel

Grandma's quilts

mmm... more desserts -- Michelle putting the finishing touches on the Almond puff

getting ready....

Dessert for the 50th (lemon tarts with blueberries!)

listening to Joel, Rebecca and Benny play Christmas music after dinner -- Ben's playing the djembe somewhere....

enjoying

Getting ready to make food

Me and cousin Madison Wheeler. Ladies in the background getting the picture boards ready for the 50th Celebration.

This is Dad and my brother Tim getting an extra table from grandpa's for the feast later that day...
